I qualified with honours from Bristol University in 1981 and moved to the North East where, apart from 3 years in Canada I have spent all my working life.
I have worked in many practices across the region before setting up my own practice in 2003.
My aim has always been to empower my patients to achieve and maintain their oral health so that less intervention is required. Because of this I chose to leave the NHS in 2008 when I felt it became a target driven system and stopped being patient centred.
My expertise is in treating nervous patients and I gained my diploma in conscious Sedation in 2001. I also undertook a course in Advanced Restorative care in 2008.
I maintain my enthusiasm for the job and love the chance to help people get the smile they want.
Outside of work I enjoy visits to National Trust properties, watching sport and going to see live music at the Sage.

I have worked in Dentistry for the past seventeen years; I am the manager of the practice as well as a qualified dental and sedation nurse.
I have worked with Ann for twelve years now and was instrumental in taking the practice through a crucial transitional period when we moved away from the NHS in 2008.
I am responsible for the day to day running of the practice and ensuring we meet the highest of quality and care for our patients. I love the challenge of my job; no two days are the same!
In my spare time I enjoy cooking, socialising with friends and family and walking with my two dogs Alfie and Sid.

I have worked with the public since I was 16 and have a wealth of experience. People find me friendly and courteous and easy to talk to.
I have worked in dentistry since 1993 and joined Ann’s practice in 2003. My main role is on reception but I am also registered and can work in the surgery.
Outside of work I love animals and when not shopping I like to take my dog for walks. My other interests are reading, watching the discovery channel and spending time with my family.
Before I joined the team, I had actually been a patient of Ann’s for a number of years. When I saw there was a job within the practice I applied straight away as I knew from experience just how lovely the team are.
I have always worked in either a customer focused or administrative role and this job definitely gives me the best of both worlds. My main duties include covering reception, general administration and marketing which I really enjoy, but my favourite part of the job is getting to know the patients.
When I’m not at work I like to spend time with my husband and socialise with friends. I also enjoy blogging about beauty and fashion in my spare time.
